What Wedding Coordinators Do for Your Big Day
A wedding coordinator is a person responsible for making sure the wedding day is executed perfectly. Roles of a coordinator include overseeing and being point of contact for vendors, managing the timeline, and overcoming any last-minute challenges that arise during the festivities. A wedding coordinator will ensure everything is pulled together seamlessly in real time.
Wedding Coordinators or Planners: What Sets Them Apart?
A wedding planner will work with you to plan your wedding months or years in advance. They will book the caterers and the band, sketch out the vision with florists and the venue,etc. Rather than do any original planning, a wedding coordinator is responsible for making sure the plan and vision are executed properly on the day of the wedding. They may not make the seating plan, for example, but they make sure place cards are numbered correctly and placed in the proper spot. A wedding coordinator is usually most involved about a month or so before the wedding, although they can, and should, be booked three to six months prior to the wedding date. As with anything in the wedding industry, the earlier the better!
